La Petite Anna
Built in 1733, Petite Anna was one of the few buildings to survive the Battle of Normandy in 1944. Auguste, who lived in the cottage during the war years lives in the next village and he told us about some of the events of those times. On August 6th 1944 many of the buildings at La Boutinais were destroyed and the family lost their barns, their machinery and their livestock. On August 15th, the Manoir behind the cottage was destroyed by mortar fire. Happily, the little cottage was undamaged.
The cottage has been sympathetically renovated retaining original oak beams, stonework and granite fireplace.
Perfect for a romantic getaway (there is a dishwasher instead of a washing machine!) the cottage has parking on its own driveway and has a fenced garden of lawns, flowers, shrubs and fruit trees.
